Last evening my brother did a stand-up gig in Liverpool as one of 4 comedians in a comedy show. So my sil Kath, Tom, my niece Lily and I went along to support him. Naturally I thought he rocked and it was really great to be there. He's done a few but this was the first time he'd done somebody else's gig with a largely unknown audience.
We had a good night out and went out for a very late dinner afterwards. It was a real shame that Peter couldn't be there. But the busy season is over for now and we are hoping to make the most of a child free, lighter working week next week while Tom and Anni are at camp. They are on different camps, Tom is under canvas and Anni won't entertain the idea of roughing it.
This morning I slept in (having been chatting to peter on the phone until 1.45am) and awoke to the smell of bacon cooking. Kath had been to the farm shop and Rob (who is a fantastic chef) was cooking up a feast of farm fresh eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding. How's that for top visitors? Then we had a shopping trip, getting some things Tom and Anni needed for camp, before meeting up with Mum and visiting Dad's grave, where Lily made a lovely arrangement of roses for him.
I love Lily, she shares so many of my passions, such as photography, stationery (especially coloured pens), organising and colour coding and chocolate!
