A job well done

I am chuffed to mintballs with Tom today. He worked hard for his GCSEs and has done really well. It was nerve wracking going in for his results. We mums were not permitted (by our sons) to go into the school building and had to wait for what felt like an eternity in the car park. I found myself standing with two of the mums I used to chat to in the playground when Tom was at primary school. We commented on how the time had flown between having to make sure they had done their reading the nigh before to waiting here now for these all important results. Between them being little boys and these strapping lads towering over us. It was lovely that all three of us were greeted by lads grinning from ear to ear as they came out clutching their brown envelopes.

I whipped up a celebratory cake. Well done Tom, we are very proud of you and Grandad Bob would have been pleased as punch. :) Congrats too to my lovely niece Lily on her brilliant results.
