Childhood revisited

For one of our last adventures of the holidays I took Mum, Tom and Anni to Sudbury Hall today. Not exactly Tom and Anni's idea of fun, but they are very sweet about going out with Nana for the day.
They actually found the museum of childhood there quite interesting. I was delighted to see an old Six Million Dollar Man doll, just like the one I had (I also had the Bionic Woman). Tom was a little bit disappointed when he discovered that there was still the house to look at once we'd done the museum.
But he and Anni seemed to find solace in the children's play area.
More than they would care to admit!
Best of all they liked the plasticine garden, which was apparently the idea of James May of Top Gear fame. Even the bust of the man who invented plasticine was completely made of plasticine. Very clever, although I have to admit that I hate the smell and the texture of the stuff.
I loved the plasticine picnic, especially for the fact that the cake was made by Jane Asher.
As we drove home, we passed were my sil and bil Ally and Dave used to live and I felt sad because they have moved all the way out to Qatar for the next two years. I'll be keeping up with their adventures, once they get online again though.
Now I'm just wondering what tomorrow will bring with GCSE results day for Tom and my niece Lily....
