We just LOVE this b&b. Not only is the food lovely and the service second to none (they even ironed my trousers while I was out today), but there is lots of purple. We left after a hearty breakfast, to meet up with my old friends Fiona and Ruth, who live in Aberdeen. After lunch at Fiona's they took us to the beautiful Falls of Feugh where we watched salmon leaping. It was amazing. I have never seen that before.
Then we sat in a very beautiful coffee shop there. When I was a teenager and Ruth and Fiona lived in Manchester, I used to go to Saturday night meetings with them, our friend Dawn and my now sil Helen. We had sleepovers and I used to go to stay with them with their lovely gran in Scotland. It was with them that I first cycled around the isle of Cumbrae. It was lovely to see Anni and Ruth's daughter Rebekah hit it off immediately.
She was so lovely I could have packed her in our suitcase and brought her with us.Then we went back to Ruth's house for tea and had a really lovely evening. The years just melted away.
Fiona's eldest was away on camp but we enjoyed getting to meet Tom and Lily.
..and getting to know Ruth's family, Jonathan, David, Andrew and Rebekah. We even got to look at some old photos, which give Anni and Rebekah a good laugh at our Laura Ashley dresses and shoulder pads. The weather continues to amaze me. Blue skies and sunshine in Aberdeen, I even got my shoulders tanned today. We are on the road again tomorrow...off to Inverness. Loving our trip.
