News From Distant Shores

I had news from the Intrepid Explorer today. Nobody can word it quite like him, so here is exactly what he wrote:

·      Hallo Mama,
:)I shared a shower with a lizard today. It was enjoyable. It is 35 degrees, and drops to a freezing 24 degrees at night. Spent a day in the Sultanate of Brunei, in which the King rules by decree and there are monkeys everywhere, I enjoyed myself muchly.
A lobster dinner costs very little.
There are 30cm Prawns.
My beard is growing at a steady rate.
Stephen sends his regards.
Tomorrow we are off for a three day rainforest trek, followed by a visit to the Orangutan sanctuary, then a safari down the Kinabatangan river and the ascenmt of Kinabalu, before the week at the orphanage.
Words can't really describe it here, it's like a paradise with rats and open sewers, and a massive network of open barbecues, butcheries, fruit and vegetable stalls and ocean jetties covered by a massive patchwork of tarpaulin.
Hope you are all doing as well as you can without me, missing you all a fair bit, even Annabeelzebub.
xox
PS seriously, LIZARDS IN THE SHOWER!!!
