A boat trip and a banana beer

On Monday in Heidelberg I had some all new experiences; firstly I discovered banana beer. It tastes like nothing you could ever imagine and is really rather pleasant. Secondly, since the time on my mobile phone differed by two minutes to the time on the town hall clock, I had the dishonour of carrying the cat bag. That was not so pleasant.
We visited the beautiful castle, seen here from the river.

Our guide was a French man, who appeared to have borrowed one of Elton's wigs. Here he was demonstrating with Tom, why spiral staircases where always built thus.

After our visit we were treated to a river cruise along the Neckar. It was truly scorching hot and most of the kids opted for travelling inside the boat. I braved the sun and Softie Walter got out his "parasol", which eventually ended up being needed as an umbrella when the welcome rain came.
All in all, another grand day out.
