Amazing!

Today was the launch of Holiday Bible Club 09. Every year Dave faithfully dresses up in a costume in keeping with the HBC theme to welcome the kids and listen to their jokes. This year our theme is the Amazing Adventures of the King, for which Dave literally became a fool for the sake of the gospel in his brilliant jester's costume. The first time I was involved with HBC here was in 2002 and it is a real thrill to see some of the kids from back then now all grown up and working as leaders. John here does a brilliant job of leading the warm up songs and is also a storyteller extraordinaire.

Anni made the most of her oversized team yellow t-shirt by accessorizing it with a belt and here she is getting stuck in with the crafts.

Every time the word "amazing" is said, the first child to leap up and repeat it gets a go at bowling through the giant's boot. This is John R's annual amazing invention. I have quite a cushy job, just pointing the camera and capturing the moment. As you can see just from the art work behind, hours and hours of hard work has already gone in to the preparation for HBC. I'm looking forward to the rest of the week :)
