Red and green and purple

At work today, my department were all given posh biros with green refills and now we all have to mark children's work in green. Green is allegedly less aggressive than red. (When did colours take on the ability to be anything other than just colours?)

Firstly, why does that make me want to mark in every colour of the rainbow other than green?

Secondly, what a big waste of time because I can't actually write with a biro. Well, not to my satifaction anyway.

Obviously nobody can force me to mark in green, although there may well come a day when the freedom of choice of ink colour becomes yet another freedom that has been snatched away from us in this country. Besides, it is an acknowledged fact that some people can't even read green ink. Naturally I favour purple...
