Loving, not liking

My son was complaining about his sister.
"Thomas!" (Why do we always use their full names when reprimanding them?) "Don't you like your sister?"
"I'd be lying if I said yes, Mother." (And why am I always Mother when I am out of favour?)
"Well how can you love God, whom you have not seen, if you don't love your sister, whom you have seen?"
"But Mother, it's precisely because I have seen her that I don't like her."
I despair!
I think he sensed that and quickly added,
"I love her to bits, I just don't like her that's all."
Thereby hangs a debate...
