It's that time of year when everything is a mad rush to get coursework finished and signed off and everyone prepared for exams. Last week I reminded my A level group that their coursework, two essays, one of 500 words and one of 1000, had to be double spaced. One of them told me that she'd found another in our group busily putting in an extra space between every word. When she asked why she was doing that, she said it was because I'd told her she had to double space her work. 1500 spaces! That's an awful lot of unnecessary work. I'm usually quite good at anticipating possible misconceptions. Slipped up there!
I'd really like a job that had no deadlines, or at least flexible ones. And no bells, definitely no bells....
