We stayed in a lovely hotel with Rob and Kath for the weekend, which combined some of the good bits of a hotel chain with the personal touches and customer service of an independent. The sea was just at the end of the road so that even non-walkers Peter and Rob were amenable to walking down to the seafront. There we explored the pier, which was quite nice apart from bearing some of the elements to be found in my own personal hell (ie amusement arcades and low flying seagulls ~ other things to be found in my own personal hell would be circuses, clowns in particular, fairgrounds, pigeons and drunken people.)
It was fun spending time with Rob and Kath and enjoying some sunshine.
Rob suggested a game of crazy golf. Having declared that I would rather boil my head in hot tar, I played and found that I actually liked it, especially because I won! I never win anything remotely sporty. Rob, meanwhile, developed an interesting new golf stance....Hmmm!
I have to say though, having gallivanted around to Farnham, Bala and Brighton the past three weekends, I'm very much looking forward to spending next weekend at home.
