When we first visited the church at Wheelock, a sweet little 14 year-old called round to invite us to the new year's eve party and made us feel very welcome. Yesterday evening we celebrated her becoming a sweet little 21 year-old. It was Becki Ainscough. The celebrations took the form of a ceilidh. I think this was the ceilidh people's 4th event at WHBC, so the feel like old friends by now. They always say that they enjoy coming here because everybody joins in. We did have a really fun evening, although I did strain my back in the process. (Old age creeping in!)
Watching Dave's video yesterday, I was thoroughly impressed by just how co-ordinated and in-step everyone was. Down on the dance floor, it felt like chaos, especially for me as I think I have discovered that my spatial dyslexia extends to an inability to follow dance steps.
Anyway a good time was had by all along with lashings of delicious desserts (from which I abstained completely). So happy birthday Becki, hope your 21st year is a great one. From the photo above, the signs are all good.
