Happy New Year!

This was the scene in our house on the stroke of 2009. Our new year's eve gathering was a much smaller affair than last year. We had the Big Quiz of 2008 projected onto the wall in the new lounge, which the girls just about won, beating the boys by one point. Then we had some singstar. The girls made amazing backing dancers.

Lucy and Nomi really got into the groove, before leaving us for the annual YP stay awake. I don't know how they do it (I'm up now because Tom rolled in half an hour ago, having had absolutely no sleep all night.)

Jon Mackenzie was a maestro, duetting with himself, two mikes at once; no wonder he looks so pleased with his performance.

Debbie did a duet with Dave, and very ably too.

And after much persuasion from Peter, Jen stepped up to the microphone.

As did Maggie, for a duet with Peter, who is never more in his element than when singing on being a virtual rock star on guitar hero.

Having crawled into bed at 2.45am and slept very little due to Peter's snoring, I am contemplating whether or not I would survive the Ross Mackenzie 5 mile walk today.....
