Happy New Year! Ours started with a bang as you can see. After a get-together at church from 6-9pm we carried on the festivities at home with some singstar and lots of party poppers. I love to have the house filled with friends old and new. Most people had gone by 2am, except for Dave and Davina and the children, who were staying with us for a couple of days and Hannah and Chloe who had a sleepover with Annabel, Sarah-Beth and Gemma.
Well, I use the term "sleepover" very loosely. I think they finally piped down at around 4.30am. Tom and John were at church for the traditional YP New Year's stay awake. This year they did not sleep at all and woke me up at the front door just after 8am. It's not nice to open the door to be laughed at because apparently I had Cherie Blair hair and looked a bit Mr Magoo. As I write it's now almost 7pm and Tom has only just crashed out on the sofa.
We decided to revive ourselves with a brisk walk to the farm shop. (Needless to say, Peter drove.) We were going to eat there but the coffee shop was closed. So we took pies home. Dave and Davina had to leave us this evening. I just couldn't imagine having to work tomorrow, that would be inhuman.
