Much needed ater surviving Friday's inspection, we're having a surreal and crazy weekend, yep, Abi and Rebecca have moved in for the weekend. Anni is in Manchester with Hannah for their Camp Reunion, Tom was in Chester for the day yesterday and so we swapped our children for these two! Yesterday I decided we needed some exercise and so we set off to walk to "killer mile" up to the castle at Mow Cop. Very scenic. Apparently this was the site of a great revival in the 1800's.
Abi and Rebecca have this knack for attracting and befriending strange and interesting people. Up at the top they befriended a 90 year-old man who keeps leftover steak in his pockets for the local dogs!!! He fed the girls some quality Fox's biscuits and went on his way. Wish I'd got a photo of him now. That's not to mention the man with a tea cosy on his head!
Anyway, after much hunting, we found the slab marking the end of the killer mile. The sunset was stunning from up there. Just a pity we accidentally drove it instead of walking. Ah well, maybe next time....
Now I'm sitting back and the girls are making Sunday lunch. Laughs, walks and being looked after! They can come again.
