Lundi malheureux

So Ione is having a manic Monday and Rob tells us that today has officially been designated as "miserable Monday". Too right! Having gone to bed far too late, as is our habit, I was rudely awoken by Barthez miaowing at our bedroom door for his breakfast at 6.30am. When I got out of bed, Anni was up asking me to iron her school uniform! Yep, I love to leap out of bed and feed the cat and do some ironing 20 minutes before the alarm goes off. Anni is still going through her crazy "walking to school" phase. I can only be thankful that, unlike Ione, I was given the list of cookery ingredients last night FOR ONCE! Anni made a Swiss roll and it looks yummy. I can't eat any because of my diet. :(
Then at work we all have an email calling us for a staff meeting at lunch. Those dreaded inspectors beginning with O are back again on Friday. By this stage of the day my joy knows no bounds. To cap it all I'm on bus duty. I have remembered that but have forgotten to dress for the biting winds in the vast open space that is the bus park. My hands are numb and my forefinger actually turns white in the half hour that I am standing there. It takes the whole drive home with my hands against the hot air vents for the feeling to return.
Tom has had the afternoon off because it's mentoring day. He has taken it upon himself to feed the neighbourhood with all our bacon and salami. He has not taken it upon himself to clear away any dishes or wash the frying pan. When asked to do so, he reminds me that it's Annabel's turn to do the kitchen.
So let me cheer myself up with some things to be thankful for:

Tom took his GCSE English Language early and found out today that he got an A*.
We finally have furniture for the new lounge arriving this week, so I will no longer have to listen to the loud noises such as I am now as Tom, Anni and Chloe play on Guitar Heroor Tom and Anni's disputes over what they watch on television and will never have to say "no" to the question, "Can we have a dvd night?" And Rob has designated tomorrow as Top Tuesday...

Hey Lol, glad your day was as good as mine. I vote that we work out the equivalent next year and book a day off.
The swiss roll looks lovely Anni. I`m not on a diet. And brilliant result Tom. Well done! x

Sounds like a plan. And I forgot the bit about me balancing my Special K on the bedside table and Peter knocking it off as he turned the alarm off, all over the cream carpet.
