This bank holiday weekend has been one of celebrating birthdays. On Friday evening, Ann and Jon had set off to go camping but were thwarted by the traffic and ended up staying with us instead. That meant that we got to share a champagne birthday breakfast here with Ann and later a birthday take-away at their house with our mutual friends Phil & Liz. That was birthday number one.
Then on Sunday we belatedly celebrated Julie's birthday, for which we had been away on holiday.
And finally today, those of us who were around celebrated Peter's mum's 70th birthday with a family barbecue in her garden. For this occasion, our niece Sarah made one of her amazing giant cupcake birthday cakes. (And it was just as yummy as it looks!)
This is our last day off together after over 2 weeks :( Peter's back at work tomorrow and I have to go in for an introductory lunch with the new staff. Tom and Anni still have two days holiday left. Good job we had a hot chocolate and a catch up with the lovely Hannah Hubbard to round off a great holiday.
