Shopping and surprises

After having fulfilled my role as Mum-the-taxi for Tom today, I went into Manchester with Peter and Anni to go clothes shopping. I love Manchester, it's always nice to be "back home" and I have to say that Peter is the best person in the world to go clothes shopping with. He finds things that go well together, rummages through sale rails for us, finding things we would never have spotted and waits patiently while we try things on. The city centre was looking lovely with all its lights.

I was surprised to see that the traditional inflatable Santa in Albert Square had been replaced by a giant Zippy dressed as Santa!?!?! Talking of surprises, we then came home and watched the X Factor. What a traversty to see Laura being sent home! She was the best in the competition and should have won. What were the British public (and more to the point the judges) thinking? No wonder the lovely Cheryl was speechless.
