In search of Mr D

Much in need of a change of scene and inspired by some friends who had visited here earlier in the week, Julie and I took Annabel and Chloe to Lyme Park for the afternoon. The last time I'd been here was for an extended family outing when Tom was still in his pushchair, pre-Annabel. It's a truly beautiful place and even the odd shower didn't spoil it.
We tried to follow the suggested walk, but none of us are any good at following directions, so we gave up and did our own thing.
At first the girls were happy to pose for our photographs, but before long they had had enough. Here they are trying to escape...
Asking me not to take any more photographs is like asking me not to breathe....or write. They are most necessary functions for me. So we appeased them by handing them the cameras every now and again.
We rather liked this cute little stone seat. Sadly, look as we might, there was no Mr D in white shirt emerging from the lake. Hey ho! We have to go back again some time when the house is open, so maybe next time....

I`m so disappointed you didn`t find Mr D and bring him back - maybe for a book club meeting?????
Love that bottom picture - it looks brilliant with the kind of black and white effect in the background.
