The Emerald Isle: Day 8~ Killarney National Park

We hired bikes today, to cycle round Muckross Lake in Killarney National Park. It was a lovely day and the park (once we found our way back there) was beautiful.
Apparently Queen Victoria used to come and stay at Muckross House on holiday and I can fully understand why.
 It was just gorgeous.
But somehow we managed to cycle the wrong way around the one way system and Anni had been landed with such an uncomfortable saddle that she really couldn't face repeating half the journey in the right direction. Nonetheless, some four hours later, we returned the bikes, so we felt we had cycled enough.
We had a rest and a read before returning to the Smoke House for dinner. Here's why we liked it. This was the sink in the loo.
The desserts were served in jam jars and the dessert menu consisted of the three choices being brought to us on a wooden board. I think my next dinner guests might be getting this. I had banoffee pie and Anni opted for rhubarb crumble.
This is why we liked Sika Lodge. The lounge had my very favourite coffee table in the world ever.
There were lots of lovely things, such as this beautiful crackle lamp by my bed.
..and this kooky teacup chandelier in the dining room.
Also, the yummiest breakfasts... such as Anni's chocolate chip toast with maple syrup and fruit compote. We would definitely come back here.

Your trip looks amazing Lol. And you managed to find some fab places to stay. Those pictures of the furnishings remind me of Kirstie`s fill your house for free.
