Thai red curry and Hotpots

After a long hard week of work, work and more work, I ventured into Manchester by train with Julie and met Peter at the Academy, where we had booked to see the comedy folk group The Lancashire Hotpots. We nipped across the road for a Chinese at the nearest restaurant, which happened to be a great find. Then it was back to the Academy for the gig. It was a reet treat to hear The Emo Song live along with other hot fabourites such as Chippy Tea, along with some I hadn't heard before, such as the Ikea Song. An incredulous friend, who couldn't imagine what sort of people would go to such a gig, asked me to take a photograph of the audience. Well as you can see the audience rocked! At the front there was a high density of students. Just in front of us were 3 amazing lads, who must have been about 12, and knew all the lyrics to every song and were bopping the night away.

But I have to confess that there were some who wore flat caps (some even with tinsel round them!

If you've never heard the Hotpots, check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2evkJCIolo Eeee, you'll have a laugh!

ah - after i be watching that video I remembered it's friday night and i wants me chippy tea ;-)

Funny video, crackin' accents but I'm not sure I could tolerate an entire concert of that. Their radio slots remind me of chorley fm though.
