Peter had been away for two nights and had missed us all, so he was a little less resistant to my usual suggestion of chilling out with Mamma Mia last night. We all huddled on the sofa, along with Chloe and Jacob, bar Tom, who flatly refused. About a quarter of the way through the film Peter announced, "This really is the worst film I have ever seen in my life."
How can this be? Does he not remember The Cadillac Man?
No, he does not.
He begins to sink into the sofa, the long drive is taking its toll and his eyes begin to close. Annabel won't let this happen and keeps calling, "No Dad, you're not falling asleep!"
Eventually, the phone rings. A friend needs a long chat with him and he is saved from Mamma Mia.
Tom deigns to come in to see if Mr Brosnan really does look constipated when he sings. He declares that it is so.
Oh well, we tried....

He must never have seen Piglet The Movie, Rocky and Bullwinkle or Only The Lonely.
Pierce`s singing is the low point, but the low point of something so high is still well above sea level.
