Transformations

Anni's room was last decorated when she was 7 and she has very much outgrown shocking pinks and purples now.

So we decided it was time for a more grown up look. I don't think we quite realised how many hours and how much toil it would take. However, after Peter having torn up the carpet and sanded and stained the floorboards, glued fabric on to one wall and wrestled with IKEA instructions, we finally have the finished product. Ta dah...

Anni and I spent most of this afternoon finding a place for everything and putting everything in its place.

I must also mention the hours put in by the very talented Julie. I am amazed by her skills with IKEA furniture. She has a spatial awareness that I completely lack. I look at a diagram and it starts to scramble itself in front of my eyes, whereas Julie can say, right so that's that and this is this..

The wardrobe defeated us in the end, but we managed a bookcase for downstairs, to house Anni's library. I have to say, I'll be happy not to build anything else for a while.
