Pain, rain and a little ray of sunshine

Well it hasn't been the best of summer holidays! We haven't managed to get away together and we haven't actually had much summer weather. Worst of all, Peter put his back out completely last Saturday, bending down to pick up a newspaper. He went to the pain clinic on Tuesday and has been given a concoction of tablets which make him sound slurry and fall asleep at the drop of a hat. He was also given an injection in his back for the pain. At least this consultant had read
his case notes and seemed to know what to do. Tomorrow we see the surgeon. Peter has been signed off for the week, so he was here today when Dee and Erin came. We hadn't seen them for aaaaaaaaaaages. Erin walked into the house! Our little teeny dot of a niece, walking!

The great British weather continued, I don't think this semi-South African princess could believe her eyes! We had to go uniform shopping at the market in this downpour. Back to school looms ~ groan! And results weren't quite what I had expected (doube groan!) But we had a slight reprieve from the rain while Anni did a guest paper round. I have to say she has done it a whole lot more cheerfully than her brother did last week!
