Mum was feeling a bit down, so we had her over for tea and got the film "Miss Potter" to watch with her. What a lovely film! Mum had a big smile on her face most of the way through it. Meanwhile, Tom had asked to read "Animal Farm" and so I got it out of the school library for him. He read it in less than two hours and said it was thought provoking and definitely one of his favourites. So I suggested he might like to read "1984".
"What's that about?" he asked.
"Well, it's a futuristic novel.." I began.
"What? You mean 1984 was in the future then?" he laughed.
Oh dear! I am getting old.
Tom just chuckled to himself at the thought of a futuristic novel based around a time of "dreadful" music and strange fashions.
Peter comes home tomorrow. What a long week it has been!

You should get him to read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury! It's a cracking read!
