Cousins and rhododendrons

This afternoon, after Peter had spent the morning putting the world of commerce to rights, we went over to Trentham Gardens to meet up with Peter's sister Ally, our nephews Ollie, Charlie and Max and our niece Lizzie, who is in between Tom and Anni in age. Tom, Anni and Lizzie were very happy to accompany Ollie on the sweet little train which runs along the lake. They look as if they had a hoot.

I hadn't done this lakeside walk before, it was most lovely. The rain held off too. I had to take a photo of the cousins in front of the rhododendrons. I really love rhododendrons but for some strange reason, Peter hates them. He feels that they belong in 1970's wedding photographs!?!?

Then I rounded off a lovely day by going to book club to discuss Gilead, which I rather liked. Not many people did, in fact few of them actually finished it. But not to worry, we all loved Ione's coffee cake.
