Crafty time

This year I am making an advent calendar with a difference for Anni (and Tom when he comes home). I got the idea from Pinterest and adapted it. I was going to make 24 pockets and glue them onto a canvas, which I had painted gold, but whilst shopping in Ikea the other day, I spotted this cute gift bags, which came in a pack of 24. So I have decorated each one (I did all 24 in a day!).
Then inside each one I have come up with a Christmassy activity, which I have put in a cute little card. In addition to that there will be a sweet treat and sometimes something needed for the Christmassy activity, such as a cookie cutter, some hot chocolate or a sugar cane. It has been great fun to create and the beauty of it is, once Peter has attached the bags with nails to the canvas, it can be dismantled, packed away and reused with new activities and treats for years to come.
I must confess, as I have been doing this, I have allowed myself a few Christmas tunes...a bit of Michael Buble never did anyone any harm :-)
