When we first moved here eleven years ago, Tom and Anni became friends with a little girl named Abi, who shared Tom's love of all things Lord of the Rings. On Saturday we celebrated Abi's 21st birthday. How time flies! Anni was in New York and Tom in Edinburgh, but Peter and I went along to Abi's ceilidh and hog roast.
It was a lovely occasion; I even managed to get Peter on the dance floor twice.
We enjoyed catching up with Abi's sister Hannah and her hubby Nathan and meeting their little bundle of joy, Noah for the first time, and catching up with Josh and Beth who now live far away in Newcastle, as well as catching up with Noah's Uncle Jon (see below),
The ceilidh was fun.
The band was fab.
It was hilarious watching Josh and Will, who particularly seemed to enjoy the Pride and Prejudice routine.
And all this on the eve of our 23rd wedding anniversary. It seems very quiet in our house this week. We both have the week off and no children at home. Anni is having a dream week in New York with her cousin Sarah. Can't wait to hear all about it and see the photos.
