Big Apple Adventures

So while we were enjoying the highlights of Blackpool, Anni was holidaying in New York! I wasn't able to look at her 400 photos when she got back on Saturday as I spent 14 hours throwing up after getting back from the cinema on Friday night. I think I had a dodgy hot dog. It has been weird seeing some of the scenes she had photographed cropping up on the news this week. I loved her photo of the Disney store's Barbie collection. Not sure which I want most...Katniss from the Hunger Games or Grace Kelly Barbie.

She also showed me all the flavours of Ben & Jerry's we are missing out on.....

I sent her on a mission: My baked American cheesecake comes from Gary Rhodes, who in turn got it from Junior's in New York and she had to go and taste the original. Guess what? She thought mine was better! She says the original is too cheesy.

Anni had been invited out to NYC by her cousin Sarah, who was going to stay with a friend there. They had a fab week together and did soooo much. They saw so many of the sights; Central Park, Ground Zero and went up both the Empire State and the Rockerfeller building and fulfilled one of my dreams...to see the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island ferry.

 And they got to see Wicked on Broadway. Sooo jealous!

 They even found themselves on the big screen in Times Square (see next to the F in facebook).

I promise us we will make that trip for our silver wedding anniversary. (2 years to go). We do get some excitement though...there are two skips on the driveway, heralding the beginnings of our new rear roof and new kitchen.
