Oh I do like to be beside the seaside, so on day 4 of our week of being just the two of us, we decided to go to Blackpool. I found some 2 for 1 tickets lying around the house so we got into Blackpool tower half price. We went to the very top and stood on the glass floor, which might have been quite nerve wracking if it wasn't steamed up and didn't have scaffolding for works going on below. We loved watching the dancing in the tower ballroom; such an amazing building!
I was fascinated by the comedy catchphrase collage on the floor outside the tower, I think this one was my particular favourite...
Then we used another voucher for the waxworks, which were really good fun. I had a chat with Jonathan Ross, pulled a pint with Bet Lynch and did exercises with David Beckham.
Peter became the fifth Beatle and sat with the Two Ronnies. It was great fun.
Back on the sea front, we enjoyed the numerous displays of tat, amongst which we found our very own sweet bucket!
I also found some amazing sunglasses, but for some strange reason, Peter didn't let me buy them. Hahaha!
After dinner at Nandos, we enjoyed a stroll down the pier and loved watching the changing light until the illuminations came on.
At its best, Blackpool is so beautifully Victorian.
Sitting on the pier, watching the lights twinkling in the sea and listening to music from another age, work seemed very far away.
Such a perfect day x
