What a wonderful way to start the two week Easter break! We had our dear friends Dave, Davina, Sarah-Beth, Gemma and Nathan for the weekend. On Saturday we went into Manchester because the boys were going to a very special football match. Dave, a lifelong Sunderland fan, went to see his team play his son's team Man City. Whilst they drove to the match, we let the train take the strain and introduced the girls to the delights of Affleck's Palace. Whilst in town, Davina bought a hilarious book of awkward family portraits, of which we just had to try the cover shot, hence the opening photo for this post. Davina and I were laughing so much at this book on the train home, that our girls were well and truly embarrassed. (Always a bonus).
The football outcome was good, with 3-3 draw. Dave was happy.
As ever, the weekend flew by too quickly. I am now looking forward to two weeks in the slow lane and Tom coming home for Easter :)
