This has definitely been one of the most inactive holidays we have had. I have managed to read 3 novels which says a lot! (The Hunger Games trilogy...couldn't put them down.) However, yesterday we dragged ourselves off the sofa and drove up to Keswick to meet up with my sil and bil Ann and Jon and the kids, who are holidaying up in the Lakes. It was a beautiful day and you can't beat the Lakes on a beautiful day. (Credit to Anni for these two photos.)
It was a surprise for our nieces and nephew, that we were coming to meet them. They went for a boat trip on the lake, which they all loved.
Very picturesque!
We had a lovely day just chilling together and breathing in the lovely lakeside air.
..and having some cousin time.
Tom was not impressed with the town. To quote his facebook status, "I'd never thought it
possible for an entire town to have the aura of a funeral home. But I was
wrong! Ten points Keswick; you successfully dismantled my soul with your fudge
shops, your duck pond and your terrible, terrible accent. Had you any capacity
for joy, I imagine it would be plastered liberally all over your cold,
reptilian face."
But he loved the company. Anni got busy with her camera and I particularly love this one, where the water has splashed up, echoing the shape of the duck.
Loving being a family of four again and having both the kids at home. It's hard to imagine that in just over a year from now this one will be over 2000 miles away in Perm, Russia for the year.

Oh how lovely. The Lakes are just fab! Looks like you had good weather too. Tom`s comments are funny. Maybe you need to be older to love the Lakes:) Saying that we`re off there in two weeks for the day to celebrate Beth`s birthday:)
