Hungry for more...

It is always a great delight to me to see how my children love to read. I love to see the stockpile of books kept by Anni's bed. Many of her books are lent or recommended to her by her fabulous bookworm of a friend, Katie and it was Katie who lent her the Hunger Games trilogy. I know that Anni had been incredibly excited to see the book come to life on the bog screen, so excited was she that on our recent visit to London, she photographed a bus bearing the film poster.
This may come as a surprise to my book club friends, especially Ione, but I actually didn't want to see the film. It promised to be futuristic, dark and depressing. (I know, I know, my favourite genre you think...but I am still recovering from Never Let Me Go). But I had to go and see it, not only because Anni wanted me to, but because I was intrigued by her passion for the film once she had seen it. She said it had not disappointed one bit and that she had never seen a better job done of translating a much loved book to film.
So Peter and I went along with my bil and sil Dan and Judith, and Anni came to see it again. I have to say I can see why she was gripped and why she raved. It was nothing short of amazing and the casting was perfect. So enraptured was I that the first thing I did when I got home was to download the second book of the trilogy on to my kindle. I just had to know what happens next.
Have you seen this film yet? You have to.....

I am surprised Lol! Beth is going to see it today so you can compare notes with her. Isaac will too, but I`m not so sure that I will. The book I read recently which had me raving was The Help. So much so that I am going to book club again for the first time in a year nto discuss it. Brilliant!

I've not seen it yet but I have read all three of the books thanks to the Library ;-)
I was going to wait for it to come out on dvd as the cinema is expensive and noisy...(sounding really old there!)
