Our SIL Dee (who originates from South Africa) has lived in this country for a good many years but only very recently became an official British citizen, and not for want of trying. Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating her British citizenship, which almost coincided with her birthday. And celebrate we did, with a very British party, from Dee's amazing hat to the union jack bunting and the union jack cupcakes, fish, chips, pies, mushy peas, apple pie and custard (not all on the same plate, I hasten to add).
I was even greeted at the door, by Snow White herself would you believe?
This was my favourite pic of the night, my SIL Judith posing all serenely, totally unaware that there was a crazy South African/British lady behind her. Congrats Dee and a long overdue welcome to Britain! Love you lots xxx
