Days out with the girls...and Tom

We love Lady Heyes and so when our friends Ruthie and Lily came for a visit this week, we just had to share it with them. Tom came too! I am always amazed and delighted when my giant 17 year-old happily joins us on a day out. (He has even been heard to say that he misses our family outings to NT properties now that he is working!!!) He did stand still in the middle of the place demanding an ice cream very loudly until I obliged though.
And he kept mithering me to buy an anntique pistol. (For which I did not oblige). We have had a lovely week of day trips. Our second was a boy free trip to Chester, where we had our feet nibbled by hard skin eating fish in Appy Feet. A very interesting experience that was!!! It felt like lots of electric shocks at first. I hadn't expected it to be so ticklish as I have reduced feeling in the soles of my feet, a legacy from chemotherapy. But it tickled like fury.
Anni was our tour guide, funny but she knows her way around Chester better than I do. It's the same when we go to London. She found an amazing vintage dress there, which would have been perfect for Aunty Judy's wedding, but she looked at the price tag and decided she could reproduce it herself, a better fit.
