A birthday in the big city

Tom reached the ripe old age of 17 on Thursday. We made a rather last minute decision to go to London overnight and stay in the Camden flat. So the four of us and Angela left around 6.30pm and drove down south. By 10pm we were eating a delicious curry in Camden to celebrate Tom's birthday. I can see why Peter likes it down there, being able to walk out and be spoilt for choice of places to eat.
On Friday morning we had breakfast in a cafe near Peter's office and then mooched round the wonderful Camden market before getting the tube into the city and doing some of the sights. It was a beautiful, hot, summery day and we had a great time. The youngsters wanted to do Hamley's and there I found a replica of my first ever Barbie, which at the time cost 99p and some Weetabix tokens. Anni struck a pose with Lego Buzz Lightyear.
And incredibly, when you think that 9000000 people live in London and then there are all the visitors, we bumped into Peter's brother Andrew and our sil Julia, shopping in Hamley's with their kids. What are the chances of that?
