Not so small group bbq

It began as our small group bbq, or should I say "not so small group" bbq? We'd invited a few extra friends and neighbours along and a few people who were back from uni and such like. The sun was gleaming, Andy's amazing fish kebabs and peppers with cheese were sizzling on the bbq alongside Voon's awesome marinated chicken....

People were chatting and enjoying catching up/ getting to know one another. Some people were throwing a few arrows...

There was even some musical accompaniment from Tom. It was all very civilized.

Then Peter remembered the hose pipe....
..and a giant water fight ensued.
Peter demonstrated how to make our neighbour, Neville, feel welcome. Thankfully Neville gave as good as he got.
Soon the tide turned and everyone got their revenge. Meanwhile, Julie, Jen, Debbie and I locked all the doors and basked in the safety of the kitchen. Of course we'd have loved to join in but it would have played havoc with our hair and we had to be at church for 6.30pm. I have decided that men are either grown up at 5 or it simply never happens, so I've stopped waiting.
