After a six week break masquerading as a summer, life and routine returned to the norm this morning as term began for Tom and Anni. For Tom, now a sixth former, it was just a morning in school before going off on a two day residential. He's looking forward to starting his AS courses in German, History, English and Politics (all set for world domination with that combination!). Anni meanwhile, is starting her GCSE courses and is happy that in her least favourite subject (Maths) she is with one of her most favourite friends, Beth.
Although I'm sad to see the end of the "summer", I do quite like getting back into routine and having my children gainfully employed. 11 weeks has been far too much of being busy doing nothing for Tom. I'm now looking forward to cosy evenings by the fire and lovely autumnal walks.
