When she was little, our second eldest niece, Laura (left), was known for her persistence. It used to amaze me just how long she could keep on saying "I want thum thweets". Once I did her hair in ponytails for her and they came out very lopsided. She looked in the mirror then looked at me and said, very politely, "Aunty Lorraine, please don't ever do my hair again." She was very very cute and very sweet and although she is now able to say "some sweets" instead of "thum thweets" not much else has changed.Yesterday, to celebrate Laura's 21st birthday, Laura, two of her sisters, her mum, her Grandma and a gaggle of aunts and girl cousins went pottery painting. We had a most lovely afternoon, painting cups, plates and vases, drinking coffee, eating birthday cake and putting the world to rights.
Her Aunty Ann painted a vase and Aunty Judy painted a mug.
And this is Laura's sister Sarah (here left, right on the black and white photo at the top) and their friend Louise.
I was rather impressed with Anni's work of art, which she made specifically for eating her favourite snack of fruit toast. After having painted our pots, we went back to Laura's home for Chinese. Another lovely day, happy birthday Laura, hope you got "thum thweets". xxx
