Poorly brother

Well this has certainly been an eventful week! On Thursday evening, after I'd been home a couple of hours, I spotted a note by the computer, in Tom's handwriting, "Paul in hospital, op tomorrow." When I asked him about it he said, "Oh yes, Aunty Ann rang, Uncle Paul is having a heart operation tomorrow." Whaaaaaaaaaat? I've never known of my brother going to the doctor, never mind in hospital. Of course there was nobody home and I had to do some detective work on the internet to find his nearest hospital and track him down. It transpired that he'd gone to the doctor with chest pain, been sent on to hospital and had failed the tests most spectacularly, ringing alarm bells (literally, on the treadmill actually.) The upshot was that they did an angioplasty on him yesterday. It was such a huge shock to us all, especially since our last experience of heart surgery was Dad!
Thankfully, there is a phone by his bed, so I've been able to speak to him and we're hoping to go and visit him down in Brighton next weekend. We can't go this weekend because we're having these monstrosities removed:
In fact as I type they have gone and are being replaced. Not loving the green from what used to be the inside of the cloak cupboard!
