The road to Wigan Pier that leads to London?

This week I've been called out to Mum's because she couldn't get the sound working on the tv. Last time she couldn't get Sky. I discovered that the remote control batteries were dead so I got her some new ones. Then she said that no matter how long she plugged in her mobile phone it didn't have any money on it. I tried to explain. A technological world must horribly confusing if you just don't get it.
Today Mum was off on the train to London. You can imagine how concerned I was! But my brother rang with the good news that not only was her phone charged up, but she'd managed to put credit on it and use it to ring him to say that she was on the train. The bad news was that she was on a train bound for Wigan. Even Rob knew that was in the wrong direction! (And that's saying something. With our unsporting genes came the "total lack of sense of direction" genes.)
Thankfully, she somehow realised and was back on the right track, literally, before too long. She's now enjoying a little holiday in the city.
