Father's Day

Yesterday was really hard for me and it kind of took me by surprise. I didn't expect to be so badly affected by it. It was my first Father's Day without my Dad. Dad's headstone had gone up just a couple of days earlier, so after lunch the four of us and my Mum went to visit the grave. I was amazed how busy the cemetery was. There were so many flowers around and all sorts of other things, like Father's Day balloons. We put some flowers on the grave.
He was so lovely, to miss him is still a physical pain. But I was blessed to have such a great Dad for 41 years and I'm thankful for every minute I had with him and that I saw him so often.
