Seventeen

So the baby of our little family turned 17 on Sunday. Somehow it didn't hit me as much when Tom turned 17, maybe because he had no interest in learning to drive. But Anni has her provisional licence and is raring to go..eeeeeeek! She is jumping for joy.
For her birthday she had a sleepover, followed by a tea party, at which her friends were intrigued to meet her mini-me cousin, Erin. Rain had been forecast but I had refused to accept that and it held off for us.
It was lovely to be able to eat out in the garden in March, especially Aunty Dee and Erin's beautifully baked treats...
..and to bring out the china tea sets I had bought from charity shops on our first glamping trip.
Abba Just Dance came out to play.
We brought out the bunting and the wooden happy birthday garland.
And I worried a little about my Mum, who is becoming increasingly taciturn. Then on Sunday we took a goodbye visit to see Grandma and Granddad, who are off to Australia for 3 months this week. There Anni had her birthday cake.
She managed to blow them all out in one go.
The cake was yummy; white chocolate and raspberry. She had a truly splendid weekend of celebrations and lots of lovely gifts. It was her first ever birthday without Tom at home :( which felt odd. She also had to share her day with Mother's Day.
Happy 17th birthday Anni....we love you loads xxx
