And finally.....Balamory

Since leaving Skye, we drove to Fort William. Hmmm! Think I would leave that one out of my itinerary had I known... not really much to see or do there. Our guest house did have views of Ben Nevis, but because of the mist that has now descended, we may as well have gone into the bathroom and turned on the hot tap.  Our hostess was lovely, as was the food but we have been spoiled by the beautiful b&bs we stayed in at Maryculter and Skye and nothing compares. We did, however, go to the gospel tent at Fort William. This morning I had white pudding with my breakfast and Anni had fruit pudding with hers. So not all bad. We managed to half the price of the ferry crossing to the isle of Mull by taking the short ferry to Corran and then driving a long and winding single track road to Lochaline and sailing to Fishnish.
Once in Tobermory (in light drizzle) we had lunch in the Tobermory Chocolate Shop before setting off on the Balamory buildings trail. This involved a lot of uphill walking.
But it was worth it to jump outside Josie Jump's house. (Disappointingly actually a bar).
The bay really is pretty, although yet again the tide was out!
So this is our last night on the road. We leave early in the morning, after breakfast for a very long journey home. It has been a great trip, loads of fun but I am more than ready for home now. I miss my hubby, my cat and my house! I also miss my Tomsk, who gets home on Friday!! I plan not to drive anywhere for quite some time if I can help it.
