Today has been a good news all round day! In spite of an attack of pre-results day nerves, Tom triumphed. He got an A* in Politics (scoring 100% in both papers!!!), an A in German and a B in History. I was not permitted to go into school, but his gleeful phone call came soon enough. He only needed 3 Bs for Edinburgh University, so that's him in, where he wants to be. He goes in 20 days time! We are so very happy and excited for him.
He is off to study Russian and History. My brother asked me if he plans to be a single or a double agent when he graduates. I said if he told us that he would have to shoot us.
Then Anni's day was made when she heard that Peter had got free tickets to Leeds Festival for him and her. I could have gone but a music festival is right up there with the thought of poking my eyes out with a pencil for me. So they get to do what they love and I get 4 days of girlie and extended family time.
If I hadn't spent the day with the monster of all stomach bugs since 4am it would have been a flawless day.
