Getaway

Sometimes you have to make yourself get up early and go out. It had been a busy week (A level orals for me, London for Peter) and when we found ourselves with a teenager-free day (Art coursework at school for Anni and work for Tom) I decided we needed a day out, just the two of us. So we decided to go to Anglesey for the day. It was supposed to be sunny~ 24 degrees the weatherman had said, but it changed overnight to 15 degrees and heavy showers. We went anyway. We had lunch in a pub on the road to Beaumaris, where we had a lovely sea view, that is to say a lovely view of the rain lashing down on to the sea. But it really didn't matter. We meandered around Beaumaris and then took a drive out to the Penmon lighthouse from where you can see Puffin Island. By this time it had stopped raining.
And it was all lovely and relaxing, a million miles from work, and beautiful.
On the way back we called at Conway and saw the smallest house in Great Britain.
There's something "feelgood" about being beside the sea. Note to self ~ do this more often! To cap it all we decided to call in at the cinema at Cheshire Oaks, where we saw the film Hanna, which was really good, although how it came to be a 12A I'll never know, a bit gruesome at times.
