One of my lovely birthday presents from Peter was the gift of tickets for me to go and see Kate Rusby with him and Anni. That doubled the treat, the fact that he was going to come along with me and listen to music I love. So last night we went to the Lyceum to hear Kate Rusby. She sparkled as always. If you have never had the pleasure of hearing Kate Rusby live, her chats in between the songs are also very entertaining. I love the way she comes on stage with a mug of tea and chats about random things. I was particularly glad she sang "Awkward Annie" because my Anni was with me.
For the first time I heard Kate's other half, Damien O'Kane sing and I loved it. Listen to this. There were hints of an Irish Dan Fogelberg for me.
A great evening it was, a most lovely present. Thank you honey xx
