The Royal Wedding Party

To celebrate the Royal Wedding, Anni, my little creative genius rustled up a Union Jack on canvas for me.  Love it!
I rustled up a Kate Middleton facemask (well, downloaded one) and I would look pretty convincing if it wasn't for the shine. It is so funny because you find yourself smiling for photographs behind it. Wish I could keep this nice big smile.
So Kate and Wills (amongst many others) came to watch the wedding with us. But behind the masks they were Josh and Beth...
Maggie was very organised and had the whole programme printed out, so we knew what to expect and when~ well done, Maggie! We started with bacon butties for our royal wedding breakfast guests and after the wedding, we had a barbecue with Sonia's amazing chocolate muffins and Ann's royal cupcakes.
I loved the wedding. I thought the dress was absolutely perfect. I have distinct memories of watching other royal weddings: such as going across town to my cousin Jean's to watch Princess Anne's 1973 wedding in colour (we only had black and white tv at the time because Mum was adamant that colour tv damaged your eyes!) I remember Charles and Diana's wedding, when I was 16 and had just finished my O levels and a lovely two week holiday with my best friend and her family in Llandudno. Then for Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's wedding I was in Germany and really interested to see it all from a German perspective. (I still have the German celebrity gossip magazines, speculating about the dress and whether there was jealousy between Fergie and Diana.)
Now we are looking forward to the next big wedding, that of my sil Judith, last of Peter's siblings to wed, this December. Annabel and I have decided that after yesterday, hats are a must. I won't be opting for anything like Beatrice or Eugenie's though.
Here's wishing Will and Kate a long and happy marriage.
