This week has been a bit of a whirl so far. Peter has been working away in London and so Anni and I decided to go and visit him. We bought a rail-card and had an amazingly super fast train journey down to London on Wednesday. In 1 hour 30 minutes we were there. We deposited our case with Peter at his showrooms, where I fell in love with these vintage lockers, which would be perfect for the gazillion pairs of shoes cluttering up our hallway. Sigh!
We shopped and lunched and had a great time. Anni is my perfect companion, she totally understands the need for coffee breaks in Costa and long perusals of Waterstones. At the end of the day we met Peter from work and went out for an Indian. It was lovely to be able to sit and eat outside. We came back yesterday afternoon to prepare for the end of year Book Club tea party.
Josh likened our spread to a Babylonian feast. It was a good excuse to bring out the china. For our final meeting of the year, we dicussed Josie Dew's The Wind In My Wheels.
Josie is an adventurer who goes for cycling tours all over the world. My favourite was her trip up through Scandanavia and around Iceland. You can read more about her here. She has certainly inspired me to get my bike fixed and make use of it. Don't think I'll manage Iceland though and I certainly won't be following her wheel tracks round Africa and India....
