I'm reposting this as the picture wasn't showing up before and I have made a discovery that the picture was taken a decade earlier than I had thought.
Tom was doing an English language assignment on language acquisition, for which he needed to know what his first words were. So I brought out their baby record books and we all had a delightful time reading them after dinner yesterday. Even I was amazed by how many details I had recorded. We chuckled at the facts that I had repeatedly written about how Annabel talked incessantly and how Tom ate incessantly and was nicknamed "Hungry Horace". No changes there then.
It was tucked inside one of these books that I found this gorgeous old photo of my grandmother at a street party to celebrate the end of World War 2. My grandmother is the fourth lady in a white overall from the right hand side of the photograph, next to the lady with her arms folded. I just love all the union jack aprons and the sheer volume of decorations in the street. I'd love to know the stories behind all those faces. Wouldn't you?
